Frequently Asked Questions

Taylor Hoffman is proud to be a fee-only firm. This means we are compensated for investment management and financial planning advice, not via commissions for selling investment products or insurance. Our compensation comes in the form of an annual asset management fee based on the assets we manage for you, or an hourly fee for standalone financial planning services. The hourly fee for such services is $250 per hour, with a minimum fee of $1,000.

Our asset management fees are as follows:

  • Up to $500,000 | 1.25% Annual Fee
  • $500,001 – $20,000,000 | 1.00% Annual Fee
  • Over $20,000,000 | Negotiable
This fee will be prorated and billed on a quarterly basis, in advance, based on the market value of the Assets on the last day of the previous billing period (“Billing Period”) as valued by the custodian of your Assets. Account values over $500,000 will be billed as a cliff and immediately drop to 1% as long as they are above the $500,000 floor.

Yes! As of Spring 2020 we are excited to offer tax preparation as an add-on service for wealth management clients. Offering in-house tax services is a natural extension of our mission to make clients’ financial lives as easy as possible.

The fee we charge for tax prep is as follows:

  • Basic return (Federal 1040 and Virginia return only) | $250
  • Rental property owners | starting at $500
  • Business owners | starting at $750
Please contact us to learn more about our add-on taxes services and whether our CPAs are able to assist.
